Rivercrest, Fort Worth
A west Fort Worth neighborhood built around River Crest Country Club, which opened in 1911 as the centerpiece of the Rivercrest Addition.
Inside Rivercrest
Rivercrest is the west Fort Worth neighborhood that grew up around River Crest Country Club, established in 1911 at 1501 Western Avenue as the focal point of the Rivercrest Addition. The first house went up in 1911, and the area grew quickly in the years before 1920 as leading oil families built homes here, including along the bluff on Crestline Road above the Trinity River. It sits north of Camp Bowie and just west of the Cultural District in ZIP 76107, and it fits buyers who want large, architecturally varied homes close to downtown.
The lesson here is that every home is close to one of a kind, so comps need judgment. Homes range from early 20th century estates to newer rebuilds such as a 1999 home in the Rivercrest Addition listed at $2,450,000 in 2025, and lot, view, club proximity and architecture can swing value more than square footage does. When I price a home here, I build the comparison home by home and explain each adjustment, and when I help a buyer, I bring a construction eye to what an older estate will cost to maintain or restore.
