Why it matters

A builder's eye on your side

Most custom home problems start before construction: the wrong lot, a budget that leaves out site work, or a contract that doesn't say who pays when something changes. I spent more than ten years in construction and remodeling before real estate, and my family still runs MTR Contractors, so I help you avoid those mistakes from the first conversation.

We start with the lot, because the lot sets the cost. Slope, soil, utilities, setbacks, HOA architectural rules and flood maps all change what you can build and what it costs. Then we match you with the right builder for your budget and style, and review the contract and allowances before you sign.

FAQ

Common questions

Should I buy the lot before choosing a builder?
Often you choose them together. Some communities require builders from an approved list, and the lot affects the design and the price. I help you line up both before you commit.
What is an allowance?
An allowance is a budget in the contract for items you pick later, such as flooring or lighting. If your selections cost more, you pay the difference, so make sure the allowances match the finishes you want.
Can MTR Contractors build my home?
MTR Contractors focuses on remodeling, outdoor living and synthetic thatch. For a full custom build I help you choose the right home builder, and MTR can handle remodeling and outdoor living projects.
