Overview

Inside Ridglea

Ridglea is the west Fort Worth area developed by brothers A.C. and J.T. Luther, who bought about 2,000 acres here and named it for the rolling hills of their family farm in Tennessee. The name now spans about 3,500 homes across Ridglea Hills, Ridglea North, Ridglea Country Club Estates, Ridgehaven, Ridglea Crest and the Ridglea Addition, many of them long brick mid-century ranches. Landmarks include the Ridglea Theater from 1950, Luther Lake and Ridglea Country Club, built in 1954 on about 140 acres, and the area sits west of Westover Hills along Camp Bowie Boulevard.

The lesson here is that mid-century homes split into two markets. Original 1950s ranches in Ridglea Hills were listed from $439,500 for 1,784 sq ft to $899,000 for 3,154 sq ft in spring 2026, and the gap is mostly size and updates. If you are selling an original home, I show which updates buyers pay for and which they discount, and if you are buying, I look closely at cast iron plumbing, electrical panels and foundations, which are the expensive surprises in homes of this age.
