Inside Lakeside
Lakeside is the mixed-use development on the southern edge of Flower Mound near Grapevine Lake, planned by Realty Capital on about 150 acres inside the town's larger Lakeside Business District. The town council approved it in November 2012, and Phase 1 broke ground in April 2013 with commercial space, 170 loft apartments and 170 home lots. Today it includes The Shops at Lakeside, single-family homes in Lakeside Village and high-end residences such as those at Lakeside Tower.
The lesson here is that Lakeside is close to finished. In March 2026 Homebound bought 44 lots in The Villas at Lakeside to build Mediterranean-style villas, described as the final single-family homes in Lakeside Village. When new construction in a walkable district ends, resales become the only way in, so sellers can price with confidence against a fixed supply, and buyers should compare the remaining new villas against recent Lakeside resales before choosing.
