The largest enrollment in 2025-26

Wakeland High School opened in 2006 at 10700 Legacy Drive in Frisco (75033). The Wolverines enrolled 2,244 students in 2025-26 according to TEA data published by the Texas Tribune, more than any other Frisco ISD high school that year and up from 2,067 a decade earlier. Wakeland reported 2,245 students to the UIL as of October 31, 2025, above the 2,215 threshold for Conference 6A, which is why it moved up for 2026-28.

The zone sits mostly in 75033, with pieces in 75034 and 75036. When I placed the addresses in Frisco ISD's 2026-27 zone file inside Census ZIP boundaries, about 74% landed in 75033, 20% in 75034 and 6% in 75036. It is also one of the more complicated zones to read, because each of its three middle schools also sends students to other high schools.

Zones follow the exact address, and Frisco ISD says its School Zone Search is not 100% accurate, so run any house through the district tool and then confirm with the campus at 469.633.5700. I check all three school levels for every address before we write an offer, and in this zone the middle school is usually where the surprises are.

Feeder pattern

Three middle schools, all of them shared

Cobb Middle (about 47% of addresses)

Fed by Fisher, most of Carroll and part of Corbell Elementary. Most of Cobb's zone goes to Wakeland, but the Corbell side of Cobb also feeds Lone Star High.

Griffin Middle (about 34%)

Fed by Purefoy, Pink and a small part of Carroll Elementary. Griffin is the most divided middle school in Frisco ISD for 2026-27, feeding Wakeland, Memorial, Frisco and Lone Star. Wakeland receives its largest share.

Pioneer Heritage Middle (about 20%)

Fed by Vaughn Elementary in this zone. Pioneer Heritage sends the larger part of its zone to Reedy High, so a Pioneer Heritage address can go either way.

Elementary splits to know

Fisher is the largest elementary in the zone. Corbell and Purefoy also serve Lone Star addresses, Pink also serves Memorial addresses, and Vaughn also serves Reedy addresses. Carroll is split between Cobb and Griffin at the middle school level.

What changed for 2026-27

No address moved into or out of Wakeland at the high school level between the 2025-26 and 2026-27 zone files, and the Staley closure did not touch the Wakeland zone. I found no announced Wakeland boundary change for 2027-28 as of October 2026.

Neighborhoods

Neighborhoods we checked against the zone file

<a href="/neighborhoods/griffin-parc">Griffin Parc</a>

A listing address on Munstead Trail returns Pink Elementary, Griffin Middle and Wakeland High in the 2026-27 zone data. Pink Elementary and Griffin Middle both sit inside the community.

<a href="/neighborhoods/diamond-point-estates">Diamond Point Estates</a>

A listing address on Florentine Lane returns Vaughn Elementary, Pioneer Heritage Middle and Wakeland High. It is a small neighborhood of 2014 and 2015 homes north of Stonebrook Parkway.

<a href="/neighborhoods/the-trails-of-west-frisco">The Trails of West Frisco</a>

A listing address on Prairie Creek Trail returns Corbell Elementary, Cobb Middle and Wakeland High. Because Corbell also feeds Lone Star through Cobb, check each Trails address rather than assuming the whole neighborhood shares one path.

Not on this list?

I list a neighborhood only after testing a real address against the district's 2026-27 data. Send me the address and I will check all three levels. To compare zones side by side, see Frisco homes by high school and our Frisco ISD school zones guide.

Campus life

What comes with a 6A campus

A new district for athletics

For 2026-28 Wakeland competes in District 5-6A against Denton Braswell, Denton Guyer, Lewisville, Flower Mound, Hebron, Marcus and Little Elm, instead of the all-Frisco 5A districts. Travel and rivalries change with it, and football divisions inside 6A are set by playoff qualifiers.

Band

In September 2026 the Foundation for Music Education named the Wakeland Wind Symphony a national winner of its 2026 Mark of Excellence (Class AAAAA) and the Wakeland Symphonic Band a national winner of the Citation of Excellence for non-varsity ensembles.

Academics

Nine Wakeland students were on Frisco ISD's September 2026 list of 120 National Merit Semifinalists for 2027. Wakeland students also have access to the district's Career and Technical Education Center.

Getting to school

Wakeland, Griffin and Pioneer Heritage were on the district's October 2026 list of campuses offering fare-based busing ($500 per student for 2026-27, $175 on free or reduced meals). Cobb was not on that list.

Read with care
These ZIP figures include homes zoned to other Frisco ISD high schools and, in 75034, homes in Lewisville ISD. They show direction, not the price of a Wakeland home. Closed sales in the specific neighborhood are the better guide.

FAQ

Common questions

Why did Wakeland High move to 6A?
UIL places schools with 2,215 or more students in Conference 6A. Wakeland reported 2,245 students as of October 31, 2025, so it competes in District 5-6A for 2026-28, the first Frisco ISD high school to do so (Community Impact, February 2026).
What middle schools feed Wakeland High School?
For 2026-27 the zone file shows Cobb (about 47% of addresses), Griffin (about 34%) and Pioneer Heritage (about 20%). All three also feed other high schools, so confirm all three levels for the exact address.
Which neighborhoods are zoned to Wakeland High?
Addresses we tested in Griffin Parc, Diamond Point Estates and The Trails of West Frisco map to Wakeland in the district's 2026-27 zone data. Confirm any other address with Frisco ISD's School Zone Search.
Is Wakeland High in Frisco ISD or Lewisville ISD?
Wakeland is a Frisco ISD school at 10700 Legacy Drive, 75033. Some homes in nearby 75034 are in Lewisville ISD, so check the school district on the appraisal record before you assume a nearby home is in the Wakeland zone.
Will the Wakeland zone change?
As of October 2026 the district had not announced a Wakeland boundary change for 2027-28, and no address changed high school between the 2025-26 and 2026-27 files. Frisco ISD reviews projections every fall, so ask before your option period ends.
How do I confirm a house is zoned to Wakeland?
Use Frisco ISD's School Zone Search, then call Wakeland at 469.633.5700 or the district at 469.633.6000 and confirm elementary, middle and high school for the coming year. Keep the written answer with your contract.
