A Frisco campus with a Plano side
Liberty High School opened in 2006 at 15250 Rolater Road in Frisco (75035). The Redhawks enrolled 1,874 students in 2025-26, according to TEA data published by the Texas Tribune, up from 1,730 in 2023-24 after several years of decline from 2,083 in 2015-16. TEA shows 15.8 students per teacher in 2024-25.
The zone reaches south into Plano. When I placed the addresses in Frisco ISD's 2026-27 zone file inside Census ZIP boundaries, about 55% landed in 75025, a Plano ZIP code, and 45% in Frisco's 75035. Many buyers assume a Plano address means Plano ISD, so this is a part of Collin County where checking the school district on the appraisal record really matters.
Zones follow the exact address, and Frisco ISD says its School Zone Search is not 100% accurate. Run every house through the district tool, confirm with Liberty at 469.633.5800, and read the taxing units on the Collin Central Appraisal District record. I do all of that before we write an offer on a Plano address that is marketed as Frisco ISD.
Liberty High by the numbers
Three middle schools, four elementaries
Fed by Isbell, Anderson and a small part of Taylor Elementary. In the 2026-27 file, Vandeventer sends its whole zone to Liberty.
Fed by most of Taylor Elementary. Fowler is located in Plano, and the larger part of its zone, through Borchardt and Riddle elementaries, goes to Lebanon Trail High instead. A Fowler address is not automatically a Liberty address.
Fed by the Liberty side of McSpedden Elementary. Most of Lawler's zone goes on to Centennial High, so confirm the high school for any Lawler address.
Taylor splits between Fowler and Vandeventer, but both paths stay at Liberty. McSpedden splits between Liberty and Centennial, and Isbell also serves a small McKinney area that goes to Emerson.
No address moved into or out of Liberty at the high school level between the district's 2025-26 and 2026-27 zone files, and the Staley closure did not affect this zone. I found no announced Liberty boundary change for 2027-28 as of October 2026.
Neighborhoods we checked against the zone file
A listing address on Woodbluff Drive returns Isbell Elementary, Vandeventer Middle and Liberty High in the 2026-27 zone data. Hunters Creek is an east Frisco neighborhood of mostly two-story homes built from 2001 to 2005.
In Plano, a listing address on Royal Troon Drive returns Anderson Elementary, Vandeventer Middle and Liberty High. Ridgeview Ranch is built around a public 18-hole golf course that opened in 1996.
About 3,400 of the zone's addresses are in 75025. Check the city on the appraisal record: a Plano city rate paired with the Frisco ISD school rate gives a different bill from both a Frisco home and a Plano ISD home. Our Frisco vs Plano guide compares the two cities.
I add neighborhoods only after testing a real address against the district's 2026-27 data. Send me the address and I will run all three levels. To compare zones side by side, see Frisco homes by high school and our Frisco ISD school zones guide.
Programs and practical details
In September 2026 the Foundation for Music Education named the Liberty Wind Ensemble a national winner of its 2026 Mark of Excellence (Class AAAAA), one of three Frisco ISD high school wind groups to earn that national winner designation.
Frisco ISD's September 2026 list of 120 National Merit Semifinalists for 2027 included 15 Liberty students. Liberty students also take classes at the district's Career and Technical Education Center and through Collin College.
Liberty was one of six Frisco ISD high schools open to in-district transfers for incoming ninth graders in 2026-27. Liberty and Vandeventer were not on the district's October 2026 list of campuses offering fare-based busing, while Fowler and Lawler were.
For 2026-28 Liberty plays basketball and volleyball in District 11-5A and football in 5A Division I, District 5, with Centennial, Heritage, Lebanon Trail, Lone Star and Reedy.
