A Frisco school with a mostly McKinney zone

Heritage High School opened in 2009 at 14040 Eldorado Parkway in Frisco (75035). The Coyotes enrolled 2,008 students in 2025-26, according to TEA data published by the Texas Tribune, compared with 1,996 the year before and a high of 2,188 in 2017-18. TEA shows 14.5 students per teacher in 2024-25.

Here is what surprises buyers. When I placed the addresses in Frisco ISD's 2026-27 zone file inside Census ZIP boundaries, about 62% of the Heritage addresses landed in 75072, a McKinney ZIP code, and about 38% in Frisco's 75035. So a home with a McKinney mailing address can be a Frisco ISD home zoned to Heritage, and its city services and city tax rate may come from McKinney rather than Frisco.

Zones follow the exact address, and Frisco ISD says its School Zone Search is not 100% accurate. Some McKinney neighborhoods near this zone also split between Frisco ISD and Prosper ISD, so check the school district on the Collin Central Appraisal District record first, then run the address through the district tool and confirm with Heritage at 469.633.5900. I do all three before we write an offer.

Feeder pattern

Roach and Maus, with five elementaries

Roach Middle (about 69% of addresses)

Fed by Sonntag, Scott, most of Mooneyham and a small part of Ashley Elementary. Roach sends its entire zone to Heritage, so a confirmed Roach address points clearly to Heritage.

Maus Middle (about 31%)

Fed by Sem and part of Mooneyham Elementary on the Heritage side. Maus also sends part of its zone, through Tadlock Elementary, to Memorial High, so check the high school on any Maus address.

Elementary schools

Mooneyham is the largest elementary in the zone (about 2,000 addresses) and splits between Roach and Maus, but both of those paths stay at Heritage. Sonntag and Ashley also serve Independence addresses, and Sem also serves Memorial addresses.

What changed for 2026-27

No address moved into or out of Heritage at the high school level between the district's 2025-26 and 2026-27 zone files, and the Staley closure did not affect this zone. I found no announced Heritage boundary change for 2027-28 as of October 2026.

Neighborhoods

Neighborhoods we checked against the zone file

<a href="/neighborhoods/panther-creek-estates">Panther Creek Estates</a>

Listing addresses on Corsicana Drive and Stephenville Drive return Sem Elementary, Maus Middle and Heritage High in the 2026-27 zone data. Despite the name, this northeast Frisco neighborhood is not zoned to Panther Creek High.

<a href="/neighborhoods/westridge">Westridge</a>

In McKinney, a listing address on Flat Creek Trail returns Scott Elementary, Roach Middle and Heritage High, and one on Water Tree Drive returns Sonntag Elementary, Roach Middle and Heritage High. Our Westridge page notes that some sections are in Prosper ISD instead, so check the district first.

The McKinney side

About 4,200 of the zone's addresses are in 75072. Those homes are in Collin County like the rest of the zone, but the city on the appraisal record decides which city tax applies.

Not on this list?

I add neighborhoods only after testing a real address against the district's 2026-27 data. Send me the address and I will check it. To compare zones side by side, see Frisco homes by high school and our Frisco ISD school zones guide.

Campus life

Programs and recent moments

Career and Technical Education

In an October 2026 tour of the district's CTE Center, Frisco ISD featured a Heritage junior in the graphic design and illustration pathway, where students work toward Adobe Certified Professional credentials in Photoshop and Illustrator and take on client projects.

Academics

Frisco ISD's September 2026 list of 120 National Merit Semifinalists for 2027 included 11 Heritage students.

Athletics

For 2026-28 Heritage plays basketball and volleyball in District 11-5A and football in 5A Division I, District 5, with Centennial, Lebanon Trail, Liberty, Lone Star and Reedy.

Getting to school

Heritage, Roach and Maus were on the district's October 2026 list of campuses offering fare-based busing ($500 per student for 2026-27, $175 on free or reduced meals). Sem Elementary was one of only four elementary schools on that list.

Read with care
75072 includes many McKinney homes outside Frisco ISD, and 75035 includes several other Frisco ISD zones. Use these for direction, then compare closed sales in the specific neighborhood.

FAQ

Common questions

Is Heritage High School in Frisco or McKinney?
The school is in Frisco at 14040 Eldorado Parkway, 75035. About 62% of the addresses in its zone carry the 75072 McKinney ZIP code. Check the city and school district on the appraisal record, not the mailing city.
What middle schools feed Heritage High School?
For 2026-27 the zone file shows Roach (about 69% of addresses) and Maus (about 31%). Roach feeds only Heritage, while Maus also feeds Memorial, so confirm the high school on a Maus address.
Is Panther Creek Estates zoned to Panther Creek High?
No. Listing addresses we tested in Panther Creek Estates map to Sem Elementary, Maus Middle and Heritage High in Frisco ISD's 2026-27 zone data. Neighborhood names do not decide schools.
Are McKinney homes in the Heritage zone in Frisco ISD?
Many are. Westridge addresses we tested in McKinney map to Roach Middle and Heritage High, but some Westridge sections are in Prosper ISD. Confirm the district on the Collin Central Appraisal District record first.
Will the Heritage zone change?
As of October 2026 I found no announced change for 2027-28, and no address changed high school between the 2025-26 and 2026-27 files. Frisco ISD reviews projections each fall, so ask before your option period ends.
How do I confirm a house is zoned to Heritage?
Use Frisco ISD's School Zone Search, then call Heritage at 469.633.5900 or the district at 469.633.6000 and confirm elementary, middle and high school for the coming year. Keep the written answer with your contract.
