Toyota's home on Headquarters Drive
Toyota Motor North America is headquartered at 6565 Headquarters Drive in Plano, ZIP 75024, according to Toyota. The campus brings Toyota's North American marketing, sales, engineering and manufacturing groups together in one place. It sits in the Legacy area next to Legacy West, where Toyota broke ground in January 2015.
When the campus opened in 2017, Construction Equipment Guide reported that it covers 100 acres with seven buildings around a large central courtyard, cost about $1 billion and was built for up to 4,000 team members, with Toyota planning to hire more than 1,000 new people. We could not find a more recent, sourced headcount, so treat 4,000 as the design capacity, not today's number.
Because the campus has been open since 2017, the neighborhoods around it are mature, with established schools, parks and retail. Your choice is less about what will be built and more about which tradeoff you prefer: a short drive and higher price in west Plano, or more house for the money a little farther out.

Trading a state income tax for a property tax bill
If you are arriving from a state with an income tax, this is the part of the budget that changes most. Texas has no personal income tax. The state relies instead on sales and property taxes, and in the Collin County suburbs around Legacy the 2025 combined property tax rate ran about 1.68% to 1.95% before exemptions, per Collin Central Appraisal District rates.
Before exemptions: a $629K Plano home in 75024 at about 1.71% is roughly $10,800 a year (about $900 a month). A $473K McKinney home at about 1.75% is roughly $8,300 a year (about $690 a month). A $760K Prosper home at about 1.95% is roughly $14,800 a year (about $1,240 a month).
Exemptions change the real bill. Every Texas school district must give a $140,000 homestead exemption on your primary residence, and Plano and Frisco each offer a 20% city homestead exemption, Prosper offers 17.5% and Allen offers 5%. You apply with the county appraisal district, generally before May 1. If you close after January 1, you can still claim the exemption for the rest of that year as long as the seller did not already receive it for that year. Once you qualify, the taxable appraised value of your homestead cannot rise more than 10% a year, starting the following tax year.
