Where the Legacy West campus sits
JPMorgan Chase's Plano campus is at 8181 Communications Parkway, inside Legacy West, the mixed-use district bordered by the Sam Rayburn Tollway (SH 121) on the north and the Dallas North Tollway on the east. Hoodline, citing the bank's corporate updates, reported in June 2026 that more than 12,500 employees work at the Plano campus.
The campus grew in two phases. The first, about 1 million square feet, was finished in 2017, and a 12-story, 540,000 square foot tower was built as phase two to make room for about 4,000 more employees, with completion expected in May 2021 (REBusiness Online, April 2020). Wireless Estimator reported in May 2026 that JPMorgan Chase is Plano's largest employer.
Not every role is growing. In June 2026 the bank filed notice of 244 call center separations at Building A starting August 21, 2026, as it consolidated that work into larger hubs (Hoodline). If you are relocating for a specific team, ask how stable that function is locally before you buy.

What a relocating household should expect
Texas has no personal income tax, so a JPMorgan Chase salary is taxed by the federal government only. The state collects through property taxes instead, and the combined rate near Legacy West ran about 1.63% to 2.23% for tax year 2025 depending on county, city and school district, per Republic Title's 2025 DFW rate sheet.
Before exemptions: a $629K west Plano home at about 1.71% is roughly $10,800 a year (about $900 a month). A $395K home in The Colony at about 1.93% is roughly $7,600 a year (about $640 a month). A $516K home on the Denton County side of Carrollton at about 1.67% is roughly $8,600 a year (about $720 a month).
Exemptions change the real bill. Every Texas school district must give a $140,000 homestead exemption on your primary residence, and Plano, Frisco and Carrollton each offer a 20% city homestead exemption, while The Colony offers 5%. You apply with the county appraisal district, generally before May 1. If you close after January 1, you can still claim the exemption for the rest of that year as long as the seller did not already receive it for that year. Once you qualify, the taxable appraised value of your homestead cannot rise more than 10% a year, starting the following tax year.
