Argyle is a Denton County town of 6,372 people (July 2025 Census estimate) along US 377 and FM 407, between Denton, Flower Mound and the AllianceTexas corridor on I-35W. The town traces back to 1881, when the Texas and Pacific Railroad came through, and it still has a small-town core surrounded by larger master plans like Harvest and Canyon Falls that carry Argyle addresses. Zillow's typical home value was about $598,000 in September 2026, down 2.6% over the year.

For tax year 2025 a home inside the Town of Argyle and in Argyle ISD paid about 1.70% combined (town 0.343111, Argyle ISD 1.1727, Denton County 0.185938 per $100). On a $600,000 home that is about $10,200 a year, or roughly $850 a month, before exemptions; the town offers a 1% homestead exemption ($5,000 minimum) and $150,000 for owners 65 and older or disabled. Argyle ISD adopted a lower $1.1558 rate on August 24, 2026, and homes outside town limits or in Northwest ISD carry different rates, so check the exact tax units on the appraisal record.

Pull the appraisal district record for any Argyle-address home before you offer, because it shows the actual taxing units: town or no town, Argyle ISD or Northwest ISD, and any special district. Then ask for the seller's disclosure on HOA dues and whether the subdivision has a MUD or PID, since those add to your yearly cost. Builders often offer rate buydowns, so a seller credit toward the buyer's rate can work better than a price cut.
